The Granpanorama Hotel StephansHof is located in the sun-spoiled village of Villandro in the Isarco Valley, which is also known as the "Valley of Trails". Innumerable hiking paths lead through the blooming valley up to the Dolomites and extended alpine pastures, and therefore provide the ideal setting for an unforgettable hiking vacation. Here you can discover the whole variety of South Tyrol.

Not only the Dolomites with the wonderful Puez-Geisler Nature Park (weekly guided hikes), but also the alpine pastures of Villandro with lush green meadows, picturesque lakes and traditional alpine huts are a paradise for hikers and mountain-bikers. Be it young or old, pleasure hiker or active holiday-maker, a hiking vacation in South Tyrol offers everything you long for.

Hiking holidays in South Tyrol: the Isarco Valley
The Isarco Valley (Eisacktal) is ideal for hiking, especially in spring and in autumn: the hiking trails start right at the hotel and lead through fields and forests to charming chapels, waterfalls, convents and traditional farms. The most popular hiking trail in autumn are the Chestnut Trail and the Törggele Trail with a constant view of the Dolomites.

One of the most beautiful high-alpine pastures in South Tyrol
The high-alpine pastures of Villandro consist of a 20 km² large hiking area with altitudes from 1700 m to 2500 m above sea level. The highest point is the Mountain of Villandro (2509 m), which, at the same time, is the exact geographic centre of South Tyrol. Innumerable hiking trails lead over wide, flat alpine pastures, past traditional huts, and to secluded chapels and alpine lakes. Unique in South Tyrol is the wide view which opens up from the alpine pasture: from the Rieserferner Mountain Group to the Zillertal and Ötztal Alps, Ortler, Brenta, Adamello, Sella and Marmolada... the panorama really is impressive. Our guests especially love the view of the nearby Dolomites. When hiking, the eyes keep on sweeping across this spectacular mountain scenery.

Dolomites - UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site
The Puez-Geisler Nature Park in South Tyrol with the Peaks of the Geisler/Odle offers a picture book view of the Dolomites. Hiking in this area is part of the most beautiful experiences in life. In 2009, the UNESCO listed the lime formations of the Dolomites amongst the most beautiful landscapes on Earth. For a reason! Regardless of the hiking trail you choose, the view of the imposing Dolomites with an impressive interplay of colours is simply breath-taking. During a guided hike in the Puez-Geisler Nature Park you can discover a wild-romantic mountain world.
